Rochester, NY: In a carefully worded video message released late Tuesday evening, Marco Rubio addressed American citizens living across the Middle East, urging vigilance while emphasizing that the United States remains committed to their safety amid escalating regional tensions.

Speaking directly to camera, Rubio acknowledged the anxiety many Americans abroad are feeling as security conditions shift rapidly in parts of the region.

He said the U.S. government is closely monitoring developments through its embassies and military commands, adding that contingency plans are in place should conditions deteriorate further.

While he did not reference classified assessments, Rubio described the situation as “serious but manageable,” stressing that preparation and awareness are critical.

The senator encouraged Americans residing or traveling in countries across the Gulf, the Levant, and North Africa to remain in regular contact with their nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.

He advised citizens to enroll in the State Department’s travel notification systems, monitor official alerts, and follow guidance issued by local authorities and U.S. diplomatic missions.

According to Rubio, coordination between the State Department, the Department of Defense, and regional partners has been ongoing “around the clock.”

Rubio’s message comes at a time when U.S. installations and diplomatic facilities in parts of the Middle East have heightened security protocols. He noted that while there is no universal evacuation orders in effect, officials are reviewing security postures on a country-by-country basis.

“If you are an American overseas, your government has not forgotten you,” Rubio said, reassuring families back home that safeguarding U.S. citizens remains a top priority.

In his remarks, Rubio also addressed misinformation circulating on social media. He urged Americans to rely only on verified government sources for updates, warning that false reports can spread quickly during periods of instability. “Confusion benefits no one,” he said, adding that official channels will continue to provide transparent updates as new information becomes available.

The senator concluded his message by emphasizing unity and resilience. He acknowledged the long-standing ties between the United States and many Middle Eastern nations, describing the presence of American workers, students, military personnel, and business leaders in the region as a testament to enduring partnerships.

“Stay alert, stay connected, and know that we are working every day to protect American lives and interests,” Rubio said.
